DISTANCE LEARNING
MEETING THE ENGLISH REQUIREMENT

The A2 English Requirement under Option I may be satisfied by any one of the following:

1. Pass English 100 with a grade of "C" or better. 
   

   English 100 - Prerequisite: English 099AB or achieve a qualifying score on the English Placement Exam.
   

2. Transfer an equivalent course from another college or university to Coastline.
   
   
3. Take the CLEP General English w/ Essay and earn a score of 490 or higher on the paper/pencil exam, or a score of 50 or higher on the computer based exam.
   
   
4. Meet English competency by passing English 099, Fundamentals of Composition.
