SOC Student Agreements

If you’re not enrolled, but are considering enrolling in a Coastline Course and need assistance with selecting your first course or degree major, you can request an Informal/Unofficial Evaluation of your credits

Upon completion of the SOC Agreement/Degree Plan Request Form and receipt of military transcripts such as SMART, AARTS, Coast Guard Institute or CCAF and/or other college transcripts, a SOC Agreement will be completed. You will be asked to select your major choice and provide your military information that is necessary to complete your evaluation. The SOC Agreement/Degree Plan is based on your major selection. If you are undecided on a major we suggest you request an Informal/Unofficial evaluation. You can also view a list of degree majors and requirements here.

If you have enrolled in a course at Coastline, submitted your official military and college transcripts and selected a major, please complete the SOC Agreement/Degree Plan Request Form.

The SOC Agreement process takes approximately 4 weeks from the time all necessary information is received.

Students will be mailed their Official SOC Agreement to the current mailing address on file at the college. Students may update their mailing address at the MyCCC portal.

Students who have attended other colleges and universities and/or have taken CLEP/DSST or other credit by exams are advised to have transcripts sent to Coastline at the time they apply. College courses and credit by exams will be included in the degree evaluation for a SOC Agreement only if the transcripts are received by Coastline at the time the SOC Agreement is processed and/or if the courses/credit is listed on the student’s official military transcript. However; official transcripts must be submitted prior to applying for graduation.

Students may use this as a personal check list to assure completion of a SOC Agreement.

  1. I submitted my official military transcript (SMART, AARTS, Coast Guard Institute or CCAF). Information about obtaining your military transcripts is provided here.
  2. I submitted my Official college transcripts from other colleges/universities and/or CLEP, DSST, or ECE exam reports (if applicable)
  3. I have selected a major and completed the online SOC/Degree Plan Form. (if you didn’t complete at the time you applied)
  4. I am enrolled in at least one Coastline course.

If you previously attended any other college institution and/or have taken any CLEP, DSST, DLPT or ECE exams that you would like to be included in your evaluation please submit official transcripts to Coastline:

An official SOC Agreement is prepared one time for each student and updated once per year. Updates of your record may be requested after completion of 12 semester hours or if official transcripts were not included in your original SOC Agreement. Degree Progress Update reports and copies of SOC Agreements can be requested online here.

Coastline will honor a student’s degree plan for a discontinued program if a Degree Plan was completed prior to June 15, 2009. Please note:

  1. An Official SOC Agreement signed by a Coastline College official is a contract between the college and the student and is honored indefinitely.

  2. Unofficial Degree Plans from Coastline provided by college representatives are subject to change. It is recommended that students request an Official SOC Agreement at the time of enrollment.
