Registration for Fall Session II is open from September 4 through October 3, 2007. Classes will be held from October 22 through December 16, 2007.

Step 1 - Request Tuition Assistance (TA)

Tuition Assistance applications may be obtained from your Base or Post Education Office. For assistance with completing a TA request, see the sample. You will need to submit your TA Authorization upon enrollment.

Effective Summer 2006, tuition is $144 per credit hour.

  • Veterans or GI Bill Benefits: Veterans who plan to use the Montgomery GI Bill are required to pay the full cost of enrollment at the time of registration. For information concerning VA Benefits, visit www.gibill.va.gov or call Coastline's Veteran's Office at (714) 241-6325.
     
  • Payment may be made by credit card, check or money order (payable to Coastline Community College)
     
  • Unpaid balances may prevent students from receiving final grades, registering in subsequent semesters, receiving transcripts, or graduating.

Step 2 - Placement Tests are recommended for students who plan to pursue a degree from Coastline, and they are required prior to enrollment in an English or Math class. It is recommended that students schedule their placement testing prior to the end of their first semester of enrollment and no later than eight (8) weeks prior to enrolling in a Math or English course. Step 3 - Complete the Online Registration Form

New Students must apply before registering in courses.

(Important: When completing the online application, you must identify yourself as a military program student (regardless of your branch of service, veteran status, or dependent status)! To do so, please enter code MIL1 in the “Special Programs” box located on the Supplemental page of the online application.

Petition for Overload. Students are limited to taking no more than 2 courses in an 8 week session unless prior approval is authorized. To petition for enrollment in more than 2 courses submit a Petition for Overload. Your registration form will not be processed until approval for an overload is granted.

Step 4 - Complete registration process by scanning or faxing the following materials by the registration deadline:

  • Registration form (only required if paper version used).
    NOTE: Students registering online no longer need to fax in their registration form.
     

  • Tuition Assistance (TA) Authorization or Credit Card Authorization Form (as applicable).
     

  • Petition for Overload Form (if taking more than 2 classes).
     

  • Proctor Agreement Form. (You may fax with registration materials if you wish. Otherwise, see Step 6 below).

All documents can be scanned and emailed to milreg@coastline.edu. You can also fax these documents to (714) 241-6270.

Please allow one-week for processing your registration materials. Once processed, you will be emailed an Enrollment Verification confirming the courses in which you have selected and providing your Student ID Number. You will also be sent a Welcome Letter with additional information

If sending your documents to us in the mail, all items must be postmarked by the registration deadline.

Step 5- Textbook and Course Materials

Order your textbooks, CD, and any other course materials online at MBS Bookstore or call 1-800-325-3252.

Step 6 - Complete the Proctor Form for Mid-Term and Final Examinations (Due by end of the first week of class)

This step assures that you have secured a proctor to administer your midterm and/or final examinations. Acceptable proctor criteria are listed on the form. Your command education services officer or your base/post education office personnel and/or test examiners meet the college’s established criteria.

Step 7 - Log onto your Course Website

Complete the Letter of Agreement Form found at each course site, for each of the classes in which you have enrolled. At your course Web site, you will also find links to your student handbook, assignments, due dates and all quizzes. Quizzes will be taken on-line and are to be submitted on or before the posted due dates.
