NAIMES Student Spotlight Award
Each year, the National Association of Institutions for Military Education Services (NAIMES) offers five $1200 scholarships to service members (active duty/veterans) and military spouses to celebrate student achievements across the Armed Forces. All applicants must submit an application, resume and essay by the deadline. Applications are usually available between June 15 and September 15. Each year, the Council of College & Military Educators (CCME) offers fifteen $1000 scholarships to service members (active duty/veterans) and military spouses who are working toward the completion of higher education degrees. All applicants must submit the CCME Scholarship Application, transcripts, and two recommendation forms by the deadline. Applications are usually available between July 1 and November 1. AMVETS National Scholarship Program
AMVETS offers a variety of scholarships, ranging from $1,000-$4,000. Children and grandchildren of veterans, as well as vets themselves, are eligible.
Children of Warriors National Presidents' Scholarship
Children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of service members are eligible for these scholarships offered through the American Legion Auxiliary. Awards range from $2,500 to $3,500.
Fisher House Foundation
Students under 23 who are enrolling in a full-time college program and who maintain at least a 3.0 GPA are eligible for scholarships through this foundation. Parents need to be active duty or retired military.
Coast Guard Foundation Grants
Coast Guard Foundation (CGFEG) and Vander Putten Education Grants(VPEG) are available for all Active Duty enlisted personnel pursuing higher education by providing reimbursements for many costs that may not be covered by tuition assistance. For CGFEG, the maximum reimbursement per calendar year is $500.00. For VPEG, the maximum reimbursement per calendar year is $250.00. CGMA Supplemental Education Grant (SEG)
The Coast Guard Mutual Assistance (CGMA) Supplemental Education Grant (SEG) offers awards of up to $250.00 per year to help defray non-tuition educational costs that are required for course(s) that a student is taking. All interested applicants can submit multiple grant requests during the calendar year as long as the total isn’t more than $250.00. Jack Kent Cooke Scholarships
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship provides up to $30,000 per year for up to 75 students from a nationwide applicant pool who plan to transfer to top four-year colleges or universities next fall. To be eligible, applicants must be current students at accredited US community colleges or two-year institutions with sophomore status or have graduated within the last five years. They must have a cumulative college GPA of 3.5 or above, plan to transfer to a four-year college or university to begin studies in the coming fall, and demonstrate unmet financial need.
